On one stage, ballet royalty and Broadway greats unite to create an unforgettable extravaganza. This benefit for dance also features our local performers as our future stars of ballet and Broadway. It honors individuals who have dedicated their lives to dance education in Detroit with a post Cast Party at The Roostertail. World premiers, excerpts from Tony® award-winning Broadway musicals and famous ballet repertoire that can only be seen at Music Hall, only for Detroit!

STAR CAST OF 2008
Superstars from New York City Ballet, The Light in the Piazza, Alvin Ailey, The Color Purple, Joffrey Ballet, Complexions, Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk and Sweet Charity unite for the triumphant return of “National City Stars of Ballet and Broadway” April 18-19, 2008.

In addition, live music by Billy Joel’s Movin’ Out band rocks with the cast and Detroit’s own Alvin Waddles directs the gospel choir for a roof-raising finale “I Shall Not Be Moved” featuring gospel recording artist Kenny Bobien.
